Marketing your video is very important and how you do this is key.  It’s the most powerful marketing and communication medium that we have online… and the most effective.  Video Marketing can also get you the best return on your investment and the most feedback from your customers, clients and prospects.

When your video is complete, the first thing to do is to make sure it is live on your website.

When videos are uploaded to company websites, they need to be coded to ensure that search engines will index them properly. When videos are uploaded to YouTube, one of the easiest and most powerful tips is to start your description with your website’s complete URL so that viewers.  This includes the http:// portion of the web address.  That way, even if the viewers don’t watch the whole video, will be able to locate your company’s site.

Another important step is to optimize your videos with titles, descriptions and tags to make it easy to find your videos and the conversations they are generating under the search results.  Tags can include names of people in the video, the company, topics in the video or other general terms to make to easy for others to find you.  Tag generously and be sure to add a compelling, accurate title to your video.  YouTube gives you the option to add a Title, Tags, Location, Description — all as your video uploads.

Good news about videos!  Forrester Research said in a 2009 report that a web page with video is 53 times more likely to come up in the first page of a Google search compared with a text-only web page with the same content.   It is predicted that within the next 10 years, every company will deploy videos on their websites, mobile devices and sales tools.
